Introduction to MobileMachines

For a quick start, simply point your cell phone to: http://www.mobilemachines.org/m/
(note that the trailing slash is necessary)

Many of us have grown tired of cell phone companies charging outrageous fees for some of the simplest games and applications ever created. Sprint, for example, charges roughly between $2.00 and $6.00 per game, and the download usually expires after 60 days. On the high end of things, that's as much as $36.00 per year for a sub-8-bit game.

In an effort to combat this, mobilemachines.org has compiled a small selection of FREE Java-based games designed to work on your mobile device.

This may come as a shock, but FREE means that there is no charge. We're not looking for an email address, a phone number, not even your name. Just download any of the applications and run them until your heart is content.

Please feel free to distribute the website link as you see fit.

Downloading Instructions

There are two ways to download applications from mobilemachines.org.

1. If you are simply wanting to download the game to your PC, or have a mobile device that supports a full browser mode, you should continue to the MobileMachines Downloads.

2. If you want to download and install applications directly to your phone, simply connect to the internet on your phone and point the browser to http://www.mobilemachines.org/m/

Note that the latter option will consist of nothing more than an organized file system. Clicking on any of the links in the file system from your mobile device should automatically install the application for you. For a listing of some common questions, please read the MobileMachines Support page.

Warranties and Disclaimers

Noone ever wants to read these sorts of paragraphs, but for some reason they're still just one of those things we all feel should be added.

So having said that, while mobilemachines.org tries to include games that will work on every (or at least most) mobile device, we simply can not guarantee this. In fact, since we're not even the ones writing the applications, mobilemachines.org can not guarantee that all of the applications available on this site are entirely safe for your cell phone or other mobile device.

In short, we will try to test things as they come in, but use at your own risk.
